We are currently accepting applications for a PAID and FOR CLASS CREDIT sales and business development internship within our distribution department. Our internship program provides a sneak peek into the book industry’s inner workings–from production to marketing to distribution and sales with a focus on book sales and outreach. You’ll be a valuable part of a fun, dedicated, small team and will learn about the book publishing industry. Predominately remote position with some necessary in-office work days for meetings and book mailings.

List of Responsibilities:
- Organize physical book mailouts in office to sales reps & buyers
- Reaching out to bookstores in our authors’ local areas to pitch and encourage book sales via phone and email
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with vendors and retailers
- Following up with stores that have booked events with authors to ensure timely delivery of stock
- Frequently updating our digital catalog to keep reps and buyers informed of upcoming publications
Required skills:
- Impeccable attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Superb verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to research and cold call independent bookstores
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and assist team on time-sensitive directives in an accurate, efficient, and collaborative manner
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and G-Suite
- An interest in the publishing industry and business development or sales
- High-speed Internet connection and availability for video calls
Preferred:
- Ability to work 20 hours per week
- While this position is predominantly remote/virtual, some in office work will be necessary so we consider local candidates.
- College Sophomore/Junior who is able to commit to a full semester
- Basic familiarity with Mac OS
