Greenleaf Book Group is looking for a Project Manager to focus on planning and overseeing multiple projects through the trade book production process–from manuscript delivery through the delivery of the final printed book. This position will manage the day-to-day production needs for each project, facilitate and manage client expectations, problem-solve client and internal team concerns and requests, develop and implement production schedules, while directing project communication through the production process.

What we need from you:

  • A broad knowledge and 3+ years experience in trade book publishing
  • Project management or relevant experience
  • Extreme systematic organization and time management
  • Expert problem-solving skills in a client-driven environment· An ability to anticipate team needs and take the initiative
  • A great attitude; cooperative team player; able to work independently; and an effective multi-tasker
  • A detail-oriented working style, reliability, and punctuality
  • An ability to prioritize and complete a multitude of time-sensitive tasks in an accurate, efficient, and collaborative manner
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel and Word)
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience)
  • A love for reading and genuine interest in books and the trade publishing industry
  • A good sense of humor

What you will do:

  • Maintain Greenleaf Book Group's reputation for high-level service to its clients and uphold the company's CORE values (RISE: Respect, Integrity, Stewardship, and Empowerment)
  • Primary client and team lead contact for projects in production (editorial, design, and printing)
  • Develop and manage project production schedules, communicating them internally and externally, while making sure the project team is focused on the project objectives and task due dates
  • Oversee client expectations and problem-solve client concerns and requests
  • Consult with other departments for the necessary project recommendations and communicating the information to the client
  • Maintain the integrity of internal system records for each project
  • Schedule and participate in project-related meetings, such as titling, client team meetings, and production launch meetings
  • Help determine internal process improvements and workshop ways to improve the production process for our authors and internal teams
